This course is recognized by Yashwantrao Chavan Maharashtra Open University (YCMOU) and MKCL. YCMOU will provide the Mark Sheet and MKCL will provide the Expert Certificate subject to fulfillment of requisite criteria. Expert certificate is provided as the appreciation of additional work for the said course in form of mini-projects.

The syllabus has been standardized at par with CEFR (The Common European Framework of Reference for Languages) standards. The Syllabus ensures that the following skills are achieved:

  3. Conversing
  4. Reading
  5. Writing

To acquire these skills the course covers vividly the below given elements:

  1. Context Topics: To ensure that effective communication is attained in relevant domain/subject area.
  2. Grammar Topics: To ascertain that the learner is well versed with the language correctly.
  3. Soft Skills Topics: To understand and develop positive life skills

Evaluation Pattern


A) YCMOU Mark Sheet will be provided based on the below evaluation pattern:

  1. Evaluation Pattern: Total 100 Marks
  2. Passing Criterion: Separate passing in Sections 1, 2 and 3 by scoring at least 40% marks in each section i.e. minimum 10 marks in Section 1 & 2 and minimum 20 marks in Section 3. So total minimum marks required is 40.
  3. YCMOU Mark Sheet: Printed Mark Sheet will be issued by YCMOU on successful completion of Section 1, Section 2 and Section 3 and will be delivered to the learner by MKCL.

B) MKCL Certificate will be provided to the learner who will satisfy the below criteria:

  1. Learners who have successfully completed above mentioned 3 Sections i.e. Section 1, Section 2 and Section 3
  2. Additionally, learner should have completed Section 4 (i.e. Section 4 will comprise of SUPWs i.e. Socially Useful and Productive Work in form of Assignments)

Learning Methodology


  • The Academic Approach of the course focuses on the classroom based sessions, where the batch of students will be given video lectures via projector in a classroom setup.
  • Smartphone based session end tests and results will be a new feature implemented in this course.
  • The ultimate objective is to empower the learner to engage in socially useful and productive work. It aims at leading the learner to his/her rewarding career as well as development of the society.
  • Going through eLearning sessions.
  • Solving activities, interactivities and exercises in eContent.
  • Solving assignments and creating Processfolios.
  • Solve activities at the end of each session and follow the action agenda in real life.
  • Discuss difficulties with learning facilitator and with peers.
  • Interact with peers and practice communication skills in English. i.e. converse in English, complete suggested group activities.

  4. All the questions in the examination are divided into 3 levels.
    • Level 1 = Low difficulty level
    • Level 2 = Medium difficulty level
    • Level 3 = High difficulty level

Re-examination:

Re-Exam fees: Rs. 355/-

  • Please note that in the case of failure or absenteeism in the first available final online exam attempt, Learner can appear for re-examination for next two consecutive available exam events by paying requisite fees. If Learner remains absent or fails in these two attempts, s/he will have to register afresh again by paying full Course Fees.
